What are the benefits of horse training at Divine Horse Training?
The best working relationship are those where both parties are part of the conversation!
Often horse owners are not aware of how to ask the question in the right way for the horse and things get lost in translation – rather like being the only English speaker in the middle of a roomful of foreign students!
At Divine Horse Training, we offer a comprehensive approach to horse training that focuses on developing a strong relationship between the horse and rider and teach you the skills of how to build a language between you and your horse and then your horse will be able to relate to you.
We use behavioural techniques to help horses learn and build confidence, resulting in a happier and responsive animal. Clients who work with us often report improved communication, increased safety, and a deeper appreciation for their equine partners.
Will the problem be resolved in one session?
We can usually resolve most issues in one visit. However, a horse, just like a human, needs regular practice so if you don’t keep up the methods that we teach you, you may have to book a return visit.
The duration of the training process can vary depending on the individual horse and the specific goals of the owner. At Divine Horse Training, we tailor our programs to meet the unique needs of each horse and owner.
However, some horses may require more time to fully develop the partnership with their owner in order to exhibit the desired behaviours.
As an existing customer are also able to offer you discounted prices for future sessions if you would like to improve your learning.
Do I need any special equipment?
No, we bring our top quality equipment with us. You might like to invest in some after our visit so you can build on what we teach on the day, so you can keep your horse ‘tuned up’! You actullay don’t need much!
We can can provide guidance on selecting the appropriate equipment to meet the specific needs of you and your horse.
While you are working with us, we advise that you wear safety gear including helmet and sturdy boots for protection.
We also advise that you use brushing boots on your horse.
What do you charge?
Within Surrey, Sussex, Berkshire and Kent we charge a set fee for the first 2 hours of £350.00 which covers both experienced trainers and use of our equipment and mileage.
Outside of this area, a mileage fee will apply depending on the distance travelled but we will agree this before we visit.
We are insured and Chon has an enhanced DBS check for working with minors.
What can I expect?
Before we visit we will have a free telephone consultation with you lasting up to 30 minutes, so we that we can best understand how we need to help you and your horse.
Please have your horse ready for our arrival so that we can get to work straight away and you can show us the problem.
We will then work to resolve the problem and also show you how to continue the correct behaviour and to get the best out of your horse for the future. However for some problems such as catching issues, this may take longer and there will be a further charge for each hour thereafter but we will make you aware beforehand if we think this is likely to be the case, depending on the problem area.
- The two hour session starts once we arrive at your yard/stables so please have your horse ready wherever possible and you are wearing suitable clothing.
- Please also have a hay net, possibly small feed and water ready for your horse between sessions.
We might need you to show us what you are experiencing and then Jason will demonstrate what needs to be done and Chon will explain the science and behaviours behind the process.
Once the horse exhibits the desired behaviour, the horse will receive a break where it will be led to hay net and water while we recap what happened and explain any questions you might have. Once the horse has received a break, we will repeat a similar exercise.
